I woke up extra early this morning to head down to the bagel barn for breakfast, before being picked up at 7am to go to Chichi. I was joined by 3 really nice girls but I had a splitting headache so ended up falling asleep and waking up for our coffee stop and then fast asleep again until arriving in Chichi. It is a crazy spot with hundreds/ thousands of people swarming the streets, it is really beautiful to see all the colorfully dressed people. We were very lucky as there was a Mayan festiva…

Here are a few photos of Antigua, most taken at Casa Popenoe. The house is a restored colonial palace that is now a museum with original paintings, etc. The guy who did the restoration was an American scientist for United Fruit, Wilson Popenoe, hence the name.
The other two photos are from our culinary explorations of Antigua. Only the best gimmicks will pull Beau and I in.

"What really counts in life is that at some time you have seen something, felt something, which is so great, so matchless, that everything else is nothing by comparison, that even if you forgot everything, you would never forget this."
I invite you to read and see my mission experience in Guatemala. I knew the trip would be amazing, but not, life changing and matchless. Enjoy!

Sorry it's been a little while since my last update. The last few days have been quite tiring especially since we have been in swampy areas and quite damp. Its been tiring too so having a few days in Antigua has been a welcome rest. Its the end of the first half of the trip and 6 people are leaving and 6 more joining the group.

I've been to central america twice now. Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras. So much to see in such a small space, i can't wait to see the rest of it. I would say Belize is tied for my favorite dives so far.

Guatemala was amazing and I wasn't expecting it to be as spectacular as it was. I did so much, and there's still a lot left to do. I only went to Panajachel, Quetzaltenango, and Antigua.

We arrived to Antigua Guatamala in the evening and checked into a nice hostel, which i never ended up even sleeping in. As soon as we got there, people were getting ready to go out and hit up the antigua nightlife. trey and i hung out with one of the girls that worked in the hostel and she invited us to some local girl´s birthday party and we agreed to go. Though we didnt know anyone at the party, we had a pretty good time. i was glad that trey and i were the only gri…
