Antigua Beaches.Antigua is said to have 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. All are open to the public, and so the challenge posed to a visitor is not how to gain access to the best of them but simply how to locate the beach that suits one's taste. Exploring on your own is the best way to do this, although it is wise to bring a companion along to particularly isolated locations. Locals are understandably reluctant to divulge their own favourites, so here are a number of good starters.…

Waking up to music. When not an alarm, this is always a good thing. Waking up to authentic Caribbean music outside your ship? Now, that's how a spring break should be. Since my stomach/body had gotten used to the 'gentle' motion of the ship, I was a much happy traveler when I woke up this morning. After lathering up with sunscreen, packing my bag for the day, and making sure my camera was fully loaded, I headed out with our crew into St. John's...capital of Antig…

It was such a great trip to tour the waters of the Caribbean. The islands are so magnificent and breathtaking. Everyone of them is unique and you can actually find everything you like from beaches to volcanoes, rainforest, animals, nice little restaurants...
I enjoyed it very much to do that by cruise ship which is the most convenient way of travelling and being able to get to different spots in that area quick and easily.
Looking forward to go there again!

Antigua - the Caribbean Paradise Island. Hot tropical weather but with a fresh ocean breeze all year around. I spent 2 weeks in Antigua and because it is such a small Island I had a chance to explore it whole along and across and to even look into the smallest holes and caves to check what mysteries they hide.

We loved snorkling so much the first day we signed up for a second catamaran and snorkle excursion. The guide was really nice and we set out on our boat. This one was much more crowded then the first excursion with about 30-50 people on the excursion.
We went out into the sea where we anchored at a reef. I was a little nervous since it wasn't close to a shore or anything... my fear a shark may be at this reef thankfully wasn't true. We jumped in and started swimming a…

Quick Antigua recap: Antigua wasn't bad at all -- in fact, it spectacular -- once we got away from the Hawksbill Resort. Went diving with Indigo Divers, a good operation, although the diving wasn't that great. It was a friendly husband and wife team, and we really enjoyed the boat ride. We rented a Jeep Wrangler and explored the island on our own - this is definitely the way to go! I loved Nelson's Dockyard, but the highlight for me was Half Moon Bay - rugged, deserted, gorgeous.…

The next port of call on this cruise was the island of Antigua in the capital city of St. John. Antigua, along with the nearby island of Barbuda, make up the independent country of Antigua and Barbuda. Today, we were lucky enough to have a bit of a sleep in as our excursion for the day didn't start until 9am. Initally, our plan was to do the Black Swan Pirate Ship excursion which consisted of a cruise around the harbor in Saint John, a mock pirate ship battle, as well as unlimited drinks at t…
