As in most of Europe, most museums and attractions are closed on Mondays in Antibes too, but it was still worth the trip since I was able to take some great photos looking back over the water towards Nice with snow-capped mountains in the background. I was on my way to the Picasso Museum first, but I happened to glance back and realized I could see the French Apls on the horizon. I quickly decided to change plans and walk through Europe's biggest yacht harbor toward Fort Carre so I coul…

The first place i got to see was Antibes france. Pretty cool little town, Soooo many little streets and side roads. There are literaly hundreds of little resteraunts lined up down this little streets made of stones and brike buildings. SO much too do and see if you looking for a fancy meal with 3 courses and takes half night to serve or just a quick sandwich and a cup of coffe, or the easy choice a "Barly Sandwich"beer.... I went for a pretty big walk because it seemed the easiest way to…

Best time to visit the French riviera is May, June and September. Great light there, blue sea and fantastic rocky surroundings.

In the fall semester of 2005 I had the chance to live in Valbonne, France while I was studying. It was this that gave me my jumpstart in travelling. The chance to have a place I could come back to while I was in Europe made much easier for me to travel the continent pretty much every weeked. Not only did I visit some cities outside France, but I also got the chance to visit some nice French cities and towns along the way. Evidently Paris was at the top ofthe list.

The beach part of the trip, finally off with the clothes and into the sea. Ahhh I do not mind 34 degrees here.
Juan le Pins is a small town just next to Antibes not much here other than beach, boutiques and restaurants. Oh I forgot fancy cars!!
There is a great beach path out on the penisular that goes around the cliff tops and down to secluded bays. This is a great walk and really nice to snorkel with no one else around you feel like you are discovering something new.
The beach at Juan Le…

Antibes Juan-les-Pins is a twin town separated by the Cap d'Antibes. I booked an apartment at the Hapimag Antibes (see review), a nice resort. Antibes has a charming vieille ville with old streets, bars and terraces, a perfect setting for an agreeable evening. It also has a giant collection of boats, from small sailing boats to multi million luxurieus pleasure yachts; I never saw so many ships together, not even in Monaco or in Rotterdam...
Antibes became heavily fortified ov…

Koulun portit oli kiinni, kun on itsenäisyyspäivä. Mentiin liidereiden luo opiskelemaan, mut sitten joku toikin avaimen.
Cap …

Not too much to say about Antibes. It's another town on the Riveria near Cannes. Since there was no place to put my bag and I had carried it around Cannes, I didn't want to walk around too much. I did a stroll through the old town and to the beach and came across a yacht show at the harbour. I met a guy from France that taught French at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He's already booked his ticket to return to Alberta and go see the Stampede this summer. I met his dog Pluto (pron…

My brother, who goes by the name of Rob, told me “Communism is the enemy of freshness,” which seemed to sum up most of his trip to Cuba. I can't sum up my trip that well, but here are a few highlights of my summer on the Riviera.Back to SchoolIn August, I spent three weeks in France. My goal was to 1) get out of San Francisco for the month, which is cloudy and miserable, and 2) attend a language school so I could work hard on my French. I arrived on August Fifth and, after two COACH fligh…

I don't know if "Marineland" sounds like a rip off of "Seaworld" to you, but it certainly does to me.The French take on waterslide parks was interesting to say the least. One called the Sidewinder, involved max and I sitting in a little raft and getting pushed into essentially a half pipe of water, where we slid back and forth, splashing water at all the people in the line up, until we lost momentum. It was a perfect day for the waterpark by the way, it was so hot out.. over…
