DAY EIGHT of the Beaches & Ruins Road Trip: ANTALYA and TERMESSOS. Since our rooms were so expensive and we arrived late last night, we decided to take our time leaving in order to "get the most for our money." There no real sense or logic to th…Hotel in Antalya. Then it was time to head back into the city to find our hotel (this time we had a reservation!). Lisa would take a shower at our place before we headed to the airport. Antalya is not an easy city to navigate… Getting the most for our money. |

And it's STILL DAY SEVEN of the Beaches & Ruins Road Trip: ANTALYA. After our long day that included two ruined cities, a boat ride, a marathon lunch, and a flat tire, we were a little late arriving to Antalya. Pay attention to this tip, because…hotel reservation!*** I am sure you already know this. I knew it. We ALL know this. But for some stupid reason we did not call ahead to arrange a room in Antalya when we canceled our rooms in Olympos. And of course, in Antalya, everything… Looking for a place to sleep. Any bed will do. Please? |

I am sure happy that I found the TB website. I have used it every day, and now I see I have logged over one hundred thousand words for this trip, my oh my! I know I will appreciate this record in the years to come…heck, I already do. It’s fun f…hotel, I had to research our way out of Turkey and catch up on some blogging. When I had had enough computer time, I too took advantage of the hotel fitness room (it’s the first one we’ve seen since Tel Aviv!), and then… One hundred thousand words. |

We really haven’t strayed far from the hotel since we arrived in Antalya, so today we decided to visit the Old Town and hit a museum or two. Get some culture and stuff. Started out by going towards the clock tower, keep going to the Atatürk statue and then run to catch the kid that is determined to get there way before you do. Okay, so we are now down the stairs to walk through an art exhibition. I really enjoy th…hotels with the all-inclusive are taking all their business and there are hardly no backpack travellers anymore. He tells us how he misses the old times. And he goes on about how much the tourists change, first there was Germans, no manners - holding hands… Just walking through Antalya |
