We took the students on a retreat to Lake Lure, NC. We saw the sights, went skiing, hiking, and generally tried to keep warm!!

On Nov 11, I left Vicksburg and drove across I 20 east through Mississippi and into Alabama where I stopped in Anniston at the Elks Lodge. I am not sure if they would be called mountains or just large hills, but the scenery change a little as we passed rocks! Also between Birmingham and Anniston, AL, we passed what I guessed to be a military base. There were green tanks and tan tanks. I guess tan ones for the desert …
