It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.

This blog will follow my journey out to Cambridge, England, with stops in Monterey, San Fransisco, and Baltimore, and London.

A trip that nearly didn't happen, but took us through 3 states on our way to Spain and through another country on the way back. Also the cheapest trans-Atlantic flight I've ever taken.

We got stuck in NYC for a few extra days because of a hurricane, and therefore went straight to Annapolis. Arriving earlier than we planned, we held a huge BBQ on the boat, cooking up every piece of meat in sight - steaks, burgers, sausages, fish, you name it -  it is was on the grill.

We loaded on supplies and took off to head up the C&D canal, out the Delaware river, up the coast of New Jersey, past NYC, up the Long Island Sound, around the Cape and into Boston.

I went to Yokosuka for 3 weeks - it was a blast!

My big roadtrip on the East Coast and through the South back to Austin, in late August and Early September.

We took a day trip up to Gettysburg to see the battlefield.
