...pretty cool place, I have to say. The University of Michigan has a nice campus, and there's plenty to do within walking distance - great dining, shopping, etc. There was a really great used book store. I found a copy of the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl preview issue from 1985 (Niners vs. Dolphins!). I just had to get that for a friend of mine. And I found a couple of lesser known books by Tolkien ("Farmer Giles of Ham" and "Smith of Wootton Major"), plus one about him. Pretty neat stuff.T...

Ann Arbor: an indie city filled with artsy graffiti and urban stores. I loved my trip there with 10 of my favorite ladies. We dined at Mongolian Barbeque and shopped at all of the indie stores. My favorite location: Graffiti Alley.

Its almost time to leave and I'm trying to close in on the majority of preparation and packing. I have had waves of extreme excitement, extreme curiosity, as well as nervousness and a sense of surrealness. Its crazy! Sometimes five weeks seems like its going to be such a long time, and then the rest of the time I feel like its not going to be a long enough trip in Europe. Everyone keeps telling me it goes by soooo fast! :( Oh well, atleast I have the rest of the summer in A2 to look forward...

It was a beautiful day as we were driving home, so we didn't mind the huge amount of beach traffic that backed us up on Lakeshore Drive . . . or the road construction crews we were trailing behind . . . or the festival in Grant Park that blocked the turn we needed to get on the expressway . . .
