Ann Arbor Vacation Guide
Ann Arbor is the 7th largest city in Michigan with a population of about 114,000, of which 32% are college or graduate students. Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan, giving the city it's college-town feel.
The name of the city is thought to come from the names of the founders' wives (both named Ann) and the numerous stands of oak on the land bought from the federal government. That the city is nicknamed "Tree Town" is a reference to this beginning.
Ann Arbor is a very indie and artsy city. Walk through Graffiti Alley, enjoy the artwork, even add to the gum mosaic they have on the wall. Listen to local artists play on the streets.
Head over to the many one-of-a-kind shops and splurge a little. Soak up the music and art scene in this dynamic town. Enjoy some of the delicious restaurants that Ann Arbor has to offer.
Those who celebrate April 20th (4-20) will find a welcome reception in this town, as the campus "lights up" in a mellow harmony every year for Hash Bash.

Ann Arbor: an indie city filled with artsy graffiti and urban stores. I loved my trip there with 10 of my favorite ladies. We dined at Mongolian Barbeque and shopped at all of the indie stores. My favorite location: Graffiti Alley.
