Ann Arbor is the 7th largest city in Michigan with a population of about 114,000, of which 32% are college or graduate students. Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan, giving the city it's college-town feel.

The name of the city is thought to come from the names of the founders' wives (both named Ann) and the numerous stands of oak on the land bought from the federal government. That the city is nicknamed "Tree Town" is a reference to this beginning.

Ann Arbor is a very indie and artsy city. Walk through Graffiti Alley, enjoy the artwork, even add to the gum mosaic they have on the wall. Listen to local artists play on the streets.
