The limestone reserve in the north of Madagascar Apr 02, 2007
Ankarana Special Reserve is located about 100km south of Antsiranana (Diego Suarez), and about 50km south of Amber Mountain National Park in Joffreville.

The park has some of the highest densities of primates, and is most famous for crowned lemurs, Sanford's brown lemurs, and dwarf lemurs. There are also a lot of chameleons, geckos, and other insects. The park is also well known for its huge areas of limestone karst pinnacles, called tsingy.

There are several places to camp, but the most common is to arrange a trip at a travel agency from Antsiranana.
