A cheap way to see the tropical northwest coast of Madagascar Mar 29, 2007
Ankarafantsika National Park is located 450 km northwest of the capital Antananarivo, and 115 km south of Mahajanga (French: Majunga).

This is a national park with tropical rainforest, and are mostly known for its rich selection of birds and the Coquerel's sifaka, although a lot of other lemurs are found. From April to October it can be extremely hot, so take precautions. The park camp has several rooms in bungalows, or you can bring your own tent. All meals has to be ordered beforehand, at the previous meal. The menu of dinners and suppers consists of 3-courses only.

Ankarafantsika is also rich in other animals and insects, like geckos, lizards, snakes, crickets, chameleons, Nile crocodiles and spiders.
