Anjuna Flea Market probably even sellsfleas if your looking. You can buy everything motoribikes, clothing, jewellry, homewares, spectacular food. You can get your hair cut or a tattoo.

The traders come from all over India and of course you have my favourite, Tibetan traders. The Tibetan products are usually more expensive than Indian and they are less inclined to negotiate their price but you can be assured of the quality and that you are buying an individual piece that has been lovingly worked on.

Beware of the Gujarati trinkets I've been caught out a couple of times they look really nice but they break and the quality is generally poor.

If you are a keen haggler this place is for you. Bargains are everywhere and you typically end up with your item at a tenth of the initial asking price. Be careful buying clothingthough! I bought a bunch of fisherman pants and everytime I put them on over my swimmers my skin would end up the same colour as the trousers!

The market started in the 1960's when the influx of hippies really began. They had trance parties on the beach which have continued to now and used to trade the second hand goods among themselves. They soon started trading the second hand stuff with India stores for first hand goods and in true entrepreneurial India style the Flea Markets were born.

There wasn't one on on the wednesday when I went. Shame really! It probably would have been awesome, although I'm not so into trance...
