Nice hike to the average falls Feb 06, 2013
Aninuan Falls are a bit uphill from the road, and one local guy told us that 10 minutes will be sufficient to get there… and one hour later we got to the falls… Locals will try to scam you and take money for “parking” and “guide” but that is just game that you can totally avoid. Ask people around for the proper way to the falls and they will tell you basic path to the river and from there you will be able to figure it yourself. You will have to cross the river 6-7 times but it is not deep and most of the times you can jump from the rock to the rock. There is entrance fee to the little platform above the waterfall pool and they will charge you 20p. Owner of the land tried to make some kind of attraction of the falls and he started building the bridge that would serve as a viewpoint for the falls, but that job was not finished. They told us that he did not have papers and was building without permits so government closed him down. Falls are alright to see. It is much more interesting to walk the path uphill and see how people live in the area.
One of the river crossings
and the cake :)
