Animation Academy Walt Disney World Reviews
Why the Hollywood Studios one is better Mar 15, 2013
Animation Academy is a drawing class, which is an art class that is actually, a lot of fun. This is where guests can learn to draw a Disney character, which is taught by a Cast Member. It is done at DisneyQuest and Hollywood Studios in Florida. While not a review, this will be more about why the one at Hollywood Studios is the one to go to.
For starters, it is already included in your park admission. Plus there are more of a variety of characters to draw, and you get to keep your drawing. There is a class for each hour, and each hour is a different character, usually randomly selected by the Cast Member. So one hour, it could be Jiminy Cricket, and another hour, it could be Merida.
On the other hand, DisneyQuest requires separate admission, so going there for the Animation Academy alone, is not worth it. Since the drawing is done on a computer screen with light pens, you will have to get it printed out, if you want to keep it, which costs extra money. And the only characters that you can be drawing are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto.
It can fill out very quickly, so get there early if you want a seat, as there are limited seats. I’ve seen people get turned back when there are no more seats.
