Angthong National Marine Park
Angthong National Marine Park Reviews
A wonderful view in Angthong National Marine Park Jan 12, 2012
In Koh Samui me and TB Arianna interested to join in Ang Thong National Marine Park tour. We booked this tour by travel agency. At the first , they offer price 1500 bhat/person. But finally they gave us 1200 bhat/person. Access to Ang Thong Marine Park ride by boat. These trips will generally include transfers from/to hotel, boat, breakfast, lunch, snorkeling and kayaking.
Ang Thong National Marine Park located to the north west of Koh Samui and it has more than 40 islands all the islands are uninhabited except for one, Ko Paluay, where you’ll find traditional sea-gypsies who still earn their living from fishing. Ang Thong National Marine Park is a protected nature area. The Ang Thong National Marine Park is famous for its natural beauty.
The tours started at 7am. The minibus pick up us from hotel and lead us to Nathon Pier. The boat not too big can accomodate 50 persons. We arrive at 10am in Ang Thong National Marine, began the canoe to bring us to the beach, which you can see spectacular forest and narrow ravines. The tour will give us the choice to join in kayaking or join with the boat to next step Mae Koh Island. Start kayaking along the coast to the Maekoh Island around 45 minutes. We not joined in kayaking program. Boat will transfer us to small boat 500 meters before Mae Koh Island because no pier at Mae Koh Island. Mae Koh Island is part of the Ang Thong National Marine Park.
Koh Mae is particularly popular, with an emerald seawater lake in the middle of the island, encircled on all sides by limestone cliffs. It is linked by an underground tunnel connecting with the sea, although reaching the lake entails a strenuous climb is 150 meters by stairs, but it’s rewarded with a spectacular view across the whole park. The lagoon name is Talay Nai.
Thai buffet lunch in the boat was nice experience. After lunch the boat will goes to next island. Small boat will delivered us to Wua Talap Island or 'sleeping cow' for snorkeling . You can climb up the steep 430m hill to a viewpoint offering great scenery of the entire Ang Thong Marine Park. At 3pm tour finished, the boat will back to Nathon Pier, Koh Samui.
This adventure was amazing but we should carefully to choose the travel agency. Please read carefully his offered . The most common transport from Ko Samui are tour boats taking 40-50 people, with lunch on board. These require you to transfer to a longtail boat to get onto the shore of whatever island you are visiting. Some passengers in my boat shared, the kayaking 45 minutes to Mae Koh Island made it very tiring after that it must climb the stairs to see the lagoon. Snorkeling and climbing in Wua Talap Island also requires a modicum of fitness. Please keep the power to enjoy the beautiful Ang Thong Marine Park off the top of the hill in Mae Koh Island and Wua Talap Island.
We had the good memories in this trip, I like to reccomend visit this place. A wonderful view:)

Manage your energy to enjoy the beautiful view at Mae Koh Island Jan 16, 2012
It takes about 1,5 hours from Samui Island by boat to get the island which is a apart of Angthong National Marine Park. Usually, this is the first island will be reached around Angthong National Marine Park.
There are 2 main activities in this island ; kayaking for about 1,5 hours started from different side of the beach, climbing the top with a structured ladder to view a very beautiful lagoon.
Ensure your self that you manage your energy to do both activities, because after kayaking for about 1,5 hours you need to take a rest a while before reaching the view point.
However, a 150 structured ladder is very helpful to reach the top for seeing the beautiful lagoon as the main view point of this island. It is really worth it.
Several friends who might be too excited already with kayaking, they felt tired after kayaking and they didn't have energy to reach the view point to see the beautiful blue lagoon.

A must see when you are in Koh Samui! Jul 21, 2012
Stunning!!! You have such a great view when cruising the marine park by boat.
During your boat trip you will stop at some islands, like marvelous Mae Koh or Song Pee Nong Beach. We also did some snorkelling and kayaking.
Lake Emerald is beautiful as well.
We also stopped at Koh Palua, the only island in the park you find a very small fishing village on.
It’s hard to describe in words how beautiful the marine park is, so my pictures say more than a thousand words! ;-) If you are in Koh Samui, take a tour to the Ang Thong.
