The nearest town is Murphy, North Carolina, which is also small. There aren’t many attractions in the area. Most people come to get away from it all. There is rafting on the Nantahala River and other outdoor activities. Andrews is close enough to take a day trip to Cherokee, North Carolina to visit the casinos. The Dragon’s Tail is also close enough for a day trip, which is a popular spot to ride motorcycles between Andrews and Knoxville, Tennessee.
