My esteemed travel colleagues and I crossed into Andorran territory from Spain at 1:00 pm; it was drizzling and just plain grey outside.  Luckily, the temperature hovered in the mid 40s Fahrenheit, so we didn't have to worry about freezing precipitation.  We found a large parking lot near the French post office and started walking toward the main street, Av. Meritxell.  The tourist office we walked by was closed, the shops we walked by were closed; Andorra was cl…

Next morning when we woke up we had our breakfast - and my son always enjoys this because then he can get bacon and eggs. Our goal of this morning was to go Andorra and do some shopping. Driving up to Andorra is always a very nice trip if you like driving in mountains. This time we were lucky because there was not that many trucks on the road. We were also lucky with the weather - it was clear warm and very beautiful.   Andorra la Vella  is the capital of the principality of A…

This year we wanted to drive down to Portugal from Brussels. This would give us the possibility to see some of the nice places again on the way down there. We stayed in Madrid, Tours, Andorra and Talavera de la Reina.

In the fall of 2004 I needed a change - there was only one answer: a roadtrip alone. I always wanted to see Alhambra and I just had to go for it. I ended up with 8600 km in just 2 weeks - and it was great.

Well they said we'd never make it but we did. Okay it wasn't in the VW Campervan, instead a year old VW Golf, but we did get there none the less. Anyway this is the journal of 4 plucky explorers (Me, Nick, Anna & Kerry) who decided it would be a good idea to drive to the XII Festival Internacional de Benicàssim in Benicàssim, just north of Valencia.
