Having had the time of my life driving around Costa Rica, I decided it was time to try it again somewhere new. During my previous trip in Mexico City I made a friend and invited her to join me on this exciting endeavor through Guatemala. However, as we travelers are acutely aware of, plans always change, like they did in this case. Part of the fun of traveling though is being open to these changes and seeing where they will lead you.

Mexico City, Mexico -› -› ...
Originally, I was invited to visit Mexico City with 2 lovely Travladies. However, the night before I was to depart, I came down with a the flu and sadly could not join them. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity to practique mi español, walk in Frida Kahlo's steps, climb some pyramids, and shop in the local markets; I rescheduled the trip by myself for a month later. Except the only time I was ever alone on the trip was when I was sleeping!

When one has traveled the world places that are familiar tend to become unappealing. I thought Myrtle Beach, a small beachtown in South Carolina, had become like that to me. But, sometimes we travelers need an escape from the exciting locations, some quiet time to reflect on our good fortune, and most importantly a little peace...

Paradise Island, Bahamas -› -› ...
I consider Paradise Island, The Bahamas to be my "second home," as my family and I have been going there for almost 15 years now and most of the pages in my passports have been taken up by Bahamian stamps. I doubt that I could ever tire of this place!

Honestly, a trip to Iceland was a spur of a moment decision. My friend and I had just returned from Morocco and we were experiencing the usual sadness that accompanies one after the end of a beloved trip. So, to make ourselves feel better we decided to book a trip to Iceland. Little did I know that I would become so enchanted with this spectacular country.

San Jose, Costa Rica -› Jaco, Costa Rica -› ...
This was a new travel experience for me; my friend and I rented a car and drove around the country. It was quite an adventure, as the driving conditions in Costa Rica are dire in certain parts. However, I live for the thrill of an adventure, so every morning after a couple cups of cafe con leche we rolled the windows down and listened to our favorite Latin tunes until we got to our next destination safely.

Every year the Japanese celebrate the Sakura Matsuri, or Cherry Blossom Festival. Although, we are on the other side of the world, my friend and I decided to celebrate the opening of the gorgeous flowering pink trees at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Casablanca, Morocco -› Rabat, Morocco -› ...
For as long as I can remember I have had the insatiable desire to visit Morocco. I never understood why, so I was determined to visit the country to see if I could discover the answer. This was my 2nd trip to Africa in less than a year. Both trips were with the same friend. I knew this was going to be an incredible experience, but it definitely exceeded my expectations, despite becoming addicted to Moroccan mint tea!
