Anarbagh Beverly Hills Reviews
great indian experience May 25, 2015
We are fans of Indian food. We checked out their high yelp rankings and deicded to try their new fourth location in Beverly Hills. They don't have beer/wine license. So, just non-alcoholic drinks.
Anarbagh apparently means “pomegranate garden.”
The ambiance and the plush booths are beautiful. Nice artwork and friendly staff and service make this a great dining experience. Restaurant has as big an Indian menu. So big, indeed, that it can be downright overwhelming, which is why the several combination options are much appreciated. There’s an assorted appetizer platter (for two) of samosas, crispy onion bhaji, chicken tikka, lamb tikka and ground lamb seekh kebab. Add on a soup — lentil and veggie mulligatawny is always a good call — and perhaps a salad. A good third of the menu is vegetarian, with wonderful things done with cauliflower, mushrooms, eggplant, okra, lentils, peas, spinach and potatoes. Chicken and lamb dominate as well, with a large section of the menu offering a choice of chicken or lamb for every dish.
Complimentary papadum cracker served with a pair of sauces and a ramekin of pickled carrots and peppers.
The lentils with garlic and creamed spinach- shahi paneer and cheese and eggplant with onions and peas was unique and fantastic. The flavors of all the dishes and sauces were outstanding.
They have a great variety of sauces and spices to go with any dish.
