Amsterdam, Netherlands -› -› …
Yesterday we got lucky! Today it has been raining all day long. It is funny how annoying could be for us, and how Dutch people don´t even notice it. We already had seen the weather forecast a few days ago, so we decided to do some cultural visits. First thing we did was to visit the Rijks Mu…

On Saturday, we needed pancakes, and we went to the Pancake corner on Leidseplein. Oh, my goodness. Well, I'll do you a review, but if we just say that I don't think any of us even thought about lunch? Highly recommended. The service was even OK.
N, T and C all wanted to go…

Well, sleep was not so easy for me so I did not end up waking up as bright and early as I had hoped. Also, it was overcast and rainy this Monday morning, but I dragged myself out of bed anyway and hit up breakfast. Now the hotel that I am staying at does not have an actualy breakfast, b…

I flew to Amsterdam for the Travbuddy Queensnight/Queensday minimeetup, which was awesome - mainly due to the fact that the Travbuddies were all so cool and up for a laugh. I then joined up with some friends from Spain which was a little more civil, but still brilliant.
I love this city, and I have to go back soon!

Writing this while waiting in Starbucks for Erin to arrive in Amsterdam from Sacramento/Portland. I landed around 5:40 AM from Taiwan. She is scheduled to arrive at 11, but the board says her plane should arrive around 10:19AM. Current time is 8:45 AM...she's almost here!&nbs…

We learned from our mistakes yesterday and got up early enough to get a
great breakfast at the hostel, and more importantly, skip the queues at
the Anne Franks House museum. Our breakfast was merely a couple of
pieces of toast with a fried egg on each, but the real moment of genius
was having a…

This morning was
my last morning with Lydia for a week or so, as she has to head back
to work while I have a conference starting Wednesday. We got up early
to get her to the train station, while the streets were still being
scrubbed clean from the previous night's revelry. We said our
farewell…

Back to the Schiphol airport already...at least it's not for my departure which is all I care about. I am still scratching my head though at how fast my adventure with Brett had been going and the fact we were closer to the end now that the gang was arriving for all the year end festivities.&…

I woke up on Bloemengracht at my hotel knowing that I had some morning things to take care of. Due to my crazy planning I was checking out of my hotel in Amsterdam and would be switching to a place in Amstelveen. Actually this one wasn't really my fault. I was supposed to be stayi…

After two interrupted starts (see South America I and II) I finally set off on my trip around the world. Well, around the world, I wasn't planning anything, but I had a ticket to Australia the wrong way around, which gave me stop-overs in South America, Easter Island, Tahiti and New Zealand, which …
