 Tour around the stadium Jul 12, 2009
Everyone should pay a visit to a stadium once. My tour was (of course) in the Ajax stadium called the Amsterdam Arena.
Unfortunately they had just removed the grass for preparation of a concert of U2 but it was great to be able to sit in various spots in the stadium and visiting various rooms like the press room and the command center. It gives you a good idea of what goes on in a place like this. A really nice treat for when you are in Amsterdam and you have a few hours to spend. Als je Amsterdam zegt dan zeg je Ajax en dan hoort bij een tour door Amsterdam een bezoek aan de Amsterdam Arena er zeker bij. Nu mijn neefje nog steeds bij mij logeerde zijn we samen naar de Arena gegaan voor een georganiseerde rondleiding. We waren hier bijtijds en toen we de kaartjes hadden gekocht mochten we eerst naar het museum waar alle grote prijzen en bekers… Rondleiding in de Arena // Tour in the Amsterdam Arena |

The area of the arena is quite cool - the ArenA that Ajax play in rises like a UFO above a bunch of multicoloured buildings and it would have made a great photo if it hadn't been dark already. I considered stopping for a drink, then remembered that… Arcade Fire at the Heinekin Music Hall |

This time we stayed by the Zoo at the Hotel Arena. Upon checking the hotel's website we were very impressed with what seemed to be a very stylish, modern and fashionable hotel, with a built in nightclub... wow. Upon arriving we were quite disappointed. The actual hotel building is very lovely, with a gorgeous… In the land of clogs, pastries and coffeeshops... |

I still have a lot to do in that arena, and am hoping to incorporate meetings with old friends while I'm there.
By the way, I don't think I've written how nice RuiRui and Carl's place has been. They let me and Moth stay in what essentially is our own apartment… Almost Adieu |
