Europe's favor in travel Feb 26, 2009
Through the years I have traveled to and from Schiphol on many different airlines KLM and Lufthansa being my favorite airlines. I never took time to appreciate what goes on here because I was always in a hurry running close to missing a flight or just in time to make the boarding. It is a huge airport: Schiphol International is listed among the world's busiest airports and has managed to remain so for decades, on arrival I could not deny the fact. I must add that it has gotten bigger since I last transited through it. The information signs are very good, if you transfer from one gate to another it's not difficult to find your way but the walk is long between gates. If you have to wait a while for your next flight you don't need to get bored, they have great shops and restaurants. You'll find a nice variety of shops and you can pick up some nice little souvenirs from Holland, like a pair of cloggs which I regret not buying.

We are in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, which seems to be part airport and part shopping center. The only “duty free” purchase I have made is a big bag of  Haribo Goldbaren candies, which I can buy at our local Target Store. But I am addicted, it’s been… Schiphol Airport: Great Dutch Art and Odd Urinal Decals

My Uncle Mohammed is one of the managers of the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Hotel. He gave Leah and me a complimentary room and breakfast. The hotel is connected to the airport by a walkway though we had to go outside for a short bit to walk through the entrance. Funny enough, I had never met my Uncle… The Red Light District

Then it was back to the hotel to pick up our bags and get a taxi to the airport. The flight wasn't completely full so we were able to get seats together (we were flying space available). Back at Schiphol airport...back in the car...back on the busy highway at 4pm driving into Amsterdam...what fun....NOT !! Anyhow, we finally arrived… Accelerate...

My Dutch friend Marsha gave me some back in Module 1, and now that I went to Holland I bought so much at the airport before leaving! Stroopwafels are always out of stock in their a la 7-11 store Albert Heinz , but there are just mounds of them in the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Sights. There wasn't much to see except for the canals, the old buildings, and the museums… Gone Dutch!

After landing to Schiphol for a connecting flight to Milan, my wife and I agreed to see Dam Quarter. At first we were reluctant, but then we realised that neither both of us want to waste six hours just waiting for a connecting flight. We headed out anyway. Getting out from the airportA delay worked out afterall!
