Amritsar is located in the north-west of India, and it's one of the biggest cities in the Punjab region.
One of the main attractions in Amritsar is the Golden Temple (Harimandir Sahib), wich is the most important temple for the Sikhs in India. There's also loads of other Sik shrines in the region.
Most people speak Punjabi as their native tounge, some also speak Hindi, and most young people speak English.
In winter (november-march) temperatures can be below 0 C, and in summer (april-june) as high as 50 C. There's also a monsoon season from july-september.
