Drove into the Somme region from Belgium today. Stopped off at Villers-Bretennoux (again for Cam and I). We wanted to show Nick the Australian War Memorial there. He was impressed.
Had lunch in the car... the usual baguette, ham and cheese. Off towards Amiens for the night, staying at a Premier Class hotel. Nice cheapy hotel thats clean and big enough for a cot (just). Ja, ich bin endlich in Frankreich, doch nur weil wieder das Glück auf meiner Seite stand. Eigentlich stand es nicht nur auf meiner Seite, sondern hat eine wahre Schlacht für mich geschlagen, die ich vom Zaun gebrochen hatte, indem ich mir einmal mehr reichlich Zeit ließ.
