Ami Overview

Ami is a small town located in Ibaraki, Japan. It is an hour north of Tokyo by train and an hour south of Mito. Ami is a beautiful town to visit for a day during spring when the cherry blossoms are out but there is not much to do here. The larger cities around Ami (Tsukuba and Tsuchira) do have some areas of entertainment. Such as the local mountain, Mount Tsukuba and second largest lake in Japan, Lake Kasumigaura.

Ami is in an area that is famous for natto and watermelon. There are not many foreigners that come to Ami so be aware that you may get strange looks.
