American Chilli's Grill & Bar

American Chilli's, or now simply known as Chilli's, is THE place to enjoy juicy burgers, heavenly salads, steaks as well fajitas and nachos in Kuala Lumpur.

The first Chilli's opened in Bangsar, which is the Beverly Hills of Kuala Lumpur city. Located in the Bangsar Shopping Center, the restaurant does not take reservations, so you would have to come in a little early if you don't plan on waiting as long as 30 minutes for a table. Families and big groups of people usually have a longer wait.

Probably THE thing to order at Chilli's is the Triple Play platter. The platter consists of Wings Over Buffalo, Chicken Crispers and Southwestern Egg Roll as well as celery sticks, served with Cheese and sour cream dips. It is very simply, heavenly!!

I've also tried the crispy chicken salad, which is enough for two people (maybe three!), a delicious salad mix served with mandarin orange pieces and a sweet and sour orange dressing.

Although the prices are a little steep, it is actually reasonable when a salad or a main course of a steak or fish n chips are shared between two people (US serving sizes are huge!). Coupled with bottomless soft drinks, it can set you back MYR70-MYR80, which isn't too bad for dinner for two. My visit to Chili's is once every two months, but every time I dine there with friends, we tend to stick to the Triple Play platter and salads. There is a lot more on the menu, which I am determined to try on separate occassions.

Apart from the food, Chili's is also famous for its margaritas. Something else to try when you get a chance to visit. I'm not sure how many of you have been to the Chili's in your neighbourhood in the States, but in Kuala Lumpur, this place rocks! Can't think of a better location for good American food.

By the way, if you're not familiar with Bangsar, don't worry, as you can drop by the Chili's that's located on the 3rd Floor of Suria KLCC (where the Petronas Twin Towers are!).
