Schloss Amras Feb 18, 2017
Originaly built in th 10. century, and rebuilt by Archduke Ferdinand II (1529–1595) as a Renaissance castle for his untitled wife Philippine Welser (1527–1580), whom he had married in secret. He added 1589 an additional building west of the Lower Castle for housing his collection of Armour and Curiosities.

Beside of these there is the Habsburg portrait gallery, the collection of gotic skulptures, the Spanish Hall, the inner courtyard, the bath of Philippine Welser and a lot of temporary exhibitions, some are very good, at the moment (May 2015) the glas collection Strasser.

Get there by Postbus line 4134 from Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (train station) to Schloß Ambras, the ticket will give you a reduced entrance fee, or by tram 3 to Philippine Welser station and walk about 1km throu the park, € 2,30 or by the Sightseer bus (hop on hopp off), € 13.
