Amber Lodge B&B Galway Reviews
Adequate for our needs Sep 26, 2014
Amber Lodge was easy to find, with limited parking spaces right in front. We managed to squeeze our small rental car in. We were greeted by a gentleman who showed us our room, and also gave us a small tour and showed us a small courtyard with a table out back. There was a door to get there in a small alley way with a key code to access it. I didn't see the advertised hot tub, so I asked about it.. I was told it was "out of order", because the motor broke, and they were waiting on a part.. and had been, for over a month! Oh well, that was disappointing.. after a long day of driving and walking, we had been looking forward to a hot soak. Our room was clean, with two full beds and a small twin for me. The beds took up most of the room, but that was fine, as we would only be sleeping here. We also had a small private bathroom in the room. They had continental breakfast available for purchase in the morning, but we felt it was too expensive. For 8 euros, I would expect bacon, eggs and sausage... but all they had was cold cereal, juice, toast and fruit, so we skipped it. Overall, we were disappointed by the broken hot tub, and the limited, expensive breakfast selections.. the rest of our experience was average.
