Superior service, great location, best value for money. Jul 16, 2011
We only had 4 days in Kathmandu during our visit this June 2011 and loved our stay in AGH because of the great hospitality of its staff.
On our first day, we were given a warm welcome by the owner, Prakash, who gave us a good introduction about AGH's history and the kind of service they wish deliver; that instead of a hotel, he preferred to call it home. And it's the closest to home one could get, particularly in the busy streets of Kathmandu. The staff were all very helpful and friendly - from the doorman to the reception to the kitchen staff serving your meal. The level of care and attention they put into their service is just awesome - we felt like we were in a luxury hotel! They have arranged a guided tour for us and informed us about the best places to visit given our schedule. They had free wi-fi, clean restrooms, and breakfast choices are good as well! AGH is located right where the action is - in Thamel. It is very close to convenient stores, good restaurants, and souvenir shops. There's a Standard Chartered ATM nearby, so it's no hassle getting money when you need it. The shower fixtures just need a bit of updating, but overall we had the most pleasant stay in AGH

Great Stay Mar 09, 2011
Stayed for 4 nights in May 2010. The owner welcomed me by "welcome home". This cute small hotel definitely creates a home feeling. It was a residential house of a Nepal ambassador in China. The rooms are clean and nothing better than a hot water after travling 8 days on the road from Tibet. The breakfast was really good and the cute little pug they have made me thought I was in another country. Overall, I enjoy my stay very much and definitely will go back soon.

Cold in December Dec 25, 2009
We book this cozy Hotel in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu.
We were a lil bit dissapointed because even the room looks great it wasn't great as the homepage pics show. The room was ok, but they haven't heaters, they provide you a couple of hot water bags each night! lol The toilet is ok but SURPRISE! No hot water, that's why we look for an other place to stay The breakfast is include on the rate and done on their garden, really yummy and good one! They have internet and many computers (not free) but the connection wasn't good so we didn't pay For booking in advance you have to send them your card nÂȘ etc if you come they don't charge the booking fee We paid 66USD per night in a Double delux room(Nepali de lux of course) Part of the NEPAL travel blog
For breakfast
