Amazon Conservatory for Tropical Studies Iquitos Reviews
Amazon Conservatory of Tropical Studies May 06, 2011
Journey deep into the Amazon Rain-forest to the tops of the giant trees, to the center’s canopy walkway, a system of aerial platforms and cableways over 1,500 feet long! It is the longest treetop walkway in the world. The panoramic views of the Amazon are breathtaking. You may see the following monkeys: scarlet and blue macaws, paradise tanager, and saki and titi. We spotted titi monkeys before reaching to the walkway, monkeys were not easy to spot. Spiders were more commom and beautiful colors. This experience was one of a kind. The best part is getting there by speed boat.
The Amazon has lots to offer, we stayed at the Explornaop Lodge which is highly recommended. Kerosene lanterns are the only source of light after dark, parrots eat bananas from the porches, hammocks line the pation for afternoon naps and walking distance to a Yagua village where I shot a blow gun (no one was injured-lol!) Hope this review is helpful!
