Amazing sights to see along the Danube Reviews

Sep 22, 2007
We took a Danube dinner cruise while there. Hungarian cuisine was amazing. Dinner was great, the weather (for March) was fair and the sights of the Parliament Building and the bridges were lovely all lit up at night.
Fisherman's Bastion was a very interesting structure, and from the inside, you get great views of the Danube and the Parliament Building. The church next to Fisherman's Bastion is also a must-see.
Heroes' Square is a giant outdoor courtyard surrounded with statues of all the important figures in Hungarian history. We had a group photo taken here, with the fine arts museum in the back ground.
The Fine Arts Museum reminded me a bit of the Louvre, although not as big. We saw some of the most interesting pieces of painting & sculpture. Highly recommended for art fanatics.
In the city center, there are a ton of merchants with shops & booths set up. The art is amazing, however, most (if not all) of them operate on a cash only basis. Be sure to take out/exhange plenty of cash, as it goes quick (given the exchange rate with our US dollar).
We didn't see the inside of the Parliament building, but from the outside, it's one of the most amazing structures in Europe.
Located directly on the Danube river, you can get great photos from Fisherman's Bastion.
