Separated from Bentota by just a bridge, Aluthgama is a scenic beach resort with the flair of a small market town. It is filled exotic hotels, guesthouses, shops and busy markets but its main feature are the white beaches.
The markets and shops are always busy, and locals will come to toursits trying to sell what they have.
The beaches are un-croweded and always have a breezea mid-day stroll on the beach very pleasant.
