Almudena Cemetery Jul 26, 2016
Almudena Cemetery is made into some kind of museum because of the beautiful entrances and some gorgeous crypts. I was expecting a bit more of extravagant crypts, but it looks like this Spaniards were not that cool like most of others in South American cities. Gate is very nice and then there are few older graves that follow the church walls, but most of the place is consisted of small, window sized crypts, 5-6 places high, set in the walls that edge to pathways around the place. Most of the crypts have very interesting set of memorabilia that goes with the person and his life. There are different toys, cars, flowers, figurines, small drinks… Some of them are hilarious but some very sad.
