Almelo Vacation Guide
Almelo is a city in the eastern part of the Netherlands.
The population is 72000 so it's not a big city.
In the past Almelo was a textile city, everybody worked at the Ten Cate Textiel factory.
Since the late 60's and 70's a lot of workers from Turkey and Marocco came to Almelo to work in the textile factories to.
After that, the first mosque is build in Almelo.
Currently, a major employer in Almelo is Urenco Nederland. This is a uranium enrichment plant which produces uranium with about five percent U-235, for nuclear reactors. It uses the gas centrifuge method and produces 2.8 MSWU/year. A bakery factory, Bolletje, PANalytical (formerly Philips) and the regional court are also major employers.

On Februari 13th, myself and a travelbuddy travel to Buenos Aires, where we have a few days before boarding our expedition in Ushuaia.
With our ship "Orlova" we go to Antarctic island. The "warmest" area on Artartica. Beautiful canals, due to number of islands, like Gerlachestreet and Lemairecanal are really breathtaking.
Hopefully, we will see wildlife on Antartica, such as Penguins, Snowy Sheathbill or maybe a Killer Whale.
Iternary is flexible, but we hope to set foot on land.

In the weekend of 17/10/2008 till 19/10/2008. Our friendgroupe take a visit to Preston Palace in Almelo. It is a all inclusive hotel. So you can drink and eat as many as you want.
