All under one roof.... Mar 22, 2017
In 2009 the open-air market near the cathedral was relocated to one of Havana's longest standing warehouses. Built in 1885 it has a steel base inside the concrete but still needed some 3 years of renovation work. An ideal spot for shopping as it has practically everything a tourist may want in the way of gifts and cheaper than the shops found around the capital. Of course "Che" t-shirts and Guayabera shirts, but also leather, wood and other arts and crafts on sale. Also musical instruments. There are a couple of cafés, a bank and also an office that will do the paperwork for any antique you may want to export. You may be lucky and be able to listen to a local band playing too. Alongside the building on the old tracks are some old renovated locos worth a look.

What to buy: I found normal shirts at 12CUC about 25% cheaper than in the tourist shops around town.
