Allegro Papagayo All Inclusive Guanacaste Reviews
Dec 23, 2009
The reception area is nice. It has the best views located at the top of the hill. We did have to switch rooms at first because they had only given us one bed. We called and they sent someone to come help us move right away. The rooms were decent. They all had a balcony overlooking the bay.
The whole resort was built into the side of a mountain, very pretty but tough to get around on foot. They had shuttle bus stands located all over the place and the bus would come by every 10 minutes or so.
The pool was huge and had a nice swim up bar. Pedro's bar was built right into the middle of the pool. There was another big Christmas tree in the bar area with pool tables, foosball, darts and a cigar stand. The dinner area was just adjacent to the pool. It was all open air buffet style. There were two other places to eat that you had to make reservations for. We only ate one night at the Italian place. The atmosphere was nice and the food was just okay. We actually prefered the food at the buffet.
The beach was just on the other side of the pool. It was all black sand and very secluded. They had kayaks, sail boats and jet ski’s that you could use. There was a volley ball net and plenty of beach chairs around. They even had a security officer that patrolled the beach though I don't know why.
They have tour companies who come and sit in the lobby for your to book all your excursions. They also have a water tour company at the pool. Don't loose your beach towels because they will charge you $20 American.
The resort staff were very nice. Most of them knew our names by the end of the week. A nice tip can go a long way!
