" Worst Place Ever!!!" Jul 12, 2008
Where do i begin this review will be lengthy but trust me you will want to read to get a full detail of just how bad this place is...the allegro occidental is the worst resort i have ever seen and the staff is even worse!!! the place shouldnt even be called a resort is should be called a roach motel...i visited puerto vallarta with 22 other family members as a family reunion for 8 days and we decided to stay at the allegro because the website paints a beautiful picture but it could not have been far from it...When we arrived we were treated as "V.I.P" supposedly got our keys and headed to our rooms and were all excited as we entered the rooms boy were we in for a let down right when you walk in the musty moldy odor hits your face like a wave, the walls are moldy and cracked the a/c's don't really work the curtains don't close all the way the restrooms are so tiny there were roaches in our shower and the toilet was broken and had to wait forever for it to flush and the room flooded when it rained.
The pool is dirty and extremely tiny for all the people staying at the resort. the jacuzzi is only accesible to those who pay and extra $15 a day. The snack bar serves raw food and leftovers from the buffet the day before. the sewer drain runs right underneath it so when you eat all you smell is the drainage pipe. The buffet is mediocre at best the food was repetitive and not tasty at all as a matter of fact all members of my family got sick from the food as a matter of fact the last 4 days we had to eat in the city because we got sick. The staff was probably the worst staff i've ever dealt with the managers never once adressed our complaints we made 3 appointments to meet with the general manager and every time he would go meet him he would never meet us and say he had already gone home. The lady in charge of the VIP marlene was the rudest person ever everytime we adressed the room issues she would ignore us and when she spoke to us she would never look in our faces she would talk to us and look in another direction and in the middle of the conversations she cut us off and answered the phone . And the worst thing was that the hotel locked us out of our rooms for 2 hours because we had made reservations for an activity and cancelled and she said it was too late and had to pay no matter what so we had an activity planned for the day and when we would get back we would pay only to find out all 23 of our family members were locked out of our rooms for 2 hours with infants and all until we paid the debt in full and when we complained to a manager he said she had no right to do that and she didnt even apologize for the inconvenience. All in all it was by far the worst place ever i would have rather spent a week in Ensenada or Tijuana than ever go there again trust me save your money and the trouble of having to deal with that place!!! |

The only way I would recommend staying at this hotel is if you can get it as cheaply as we did. My partner and I did an all inclusive package for a week and only paid 600 bucks each. That included everything, including airfare from Lambert International Airport in St. Louis.
The resort is actually located 15 miles away from the touristy/well known Malecon of Puerto Vallarta. So getting to the attractions, or just to town for a change of scenery was more difficult than it should have been. We paid 2 bucks a person for the city bus and walked 2 miles. The hotel works to trick people into timeshare presentations. Not only the normal tactics, but also by making every person who walks into the lobby feel like they won't know what they are doing unless you get their "information". While i know that timeshares are a part of staying pretty much anywhere (especially in Puerto Vallarta) they were so forceful that we actually felt uncomfortable and disrespected. They crossed a line. The food was mediocre at best, and the comfort of the room was, well not comfortable at all. I know, who pays money to spend a lot of time in their hotel room on vacation, but it was so uncomfortable that we woke up too sore to do anything too active in the mornings. A fun getaway location, but not if you pay full price!!
The beach was nice, although we …
