The Church of the Government Feb 03, 2017
All Saints Church was founded in 1912 and originally it was the Church of the Government and Guardian of the Christian Cemetery. It is located at the bottom of Government Hill where Government House used to be, until it was bombed by the Japanese in WWII. Like so many other buildings an exact replica of Government House was rebuilt 10 years ago.

The foundation stone was laid in 1912 but the church was consecrated in 1914 but the tower was not completed until 1927. There is a Garden of Remembrance that commemorates all of those souls who gave their life for Burma between 1899 and 1950. The church bell was cats in London in 1926 and in 2005 a priceless stained glass window was restored in UK.

Unfortunately the church was not open when i passed by before 8 am.
