All' Angelo Ristorante Los Angeles Reviews
Nice Italian Restaurant Aug 09, 2008
If I could, I would give this place 3 1/2 stars, mainly because the service was lovely and impeccable. The decor was elegant, but casual and warm. The food, however, was nice but uninspired. My friend and I tried the special prix fixe (4 course meal for $39 from Sun - Thurs). This was an affordable way to try this restaurant as the normal prices were a bit high. We had:
octopus salad - nice tender pieces of octopus in an olive oil and herb marinade; my friend and i liked this but agreed that it would have been significantly better if served warm, instead of icy cold.
rigatoni with lamb ragout - tasty but a bit salty.
veal (my entree) and monkfish (my friend's entree) - neither were particularly exciting, but the ingredients were fresh.
panna cotta with blueberries - i'm normally not a fan anyways, but my friend who is thought it was a bit tart. To give credit to the establishment, they immediately provided the alternative dessert, a lemon meyer tart.
As noted before the service was the star at this place. I probably wouldn't try it again unless someone else really wanted to...
