On 1 Septemer 1999 I was able to visit all 3 branches of the US government. I walked from the Washington Monument to the Capitol Building (Legislative Branch), then across the street to the Supreme Court (Judicial Branch) and then down Pennsylvania Ave. to the White House (Executive Branch). We had just arrived in Washington DC for what turned out to be 4 years.
