Alkmaar is the city of cheese. The tradition of the Cheesemarket started in 1593. The cheesemarket is a standard tourist attraction :) but still it's nice to go and see it sometime. You will find the Cheesemarket at the "Waagplein" on Friday's from 10.00 untill 12.00.
