Through Mountains of Andalucia

I really wanted to see Gibraltar. And a piece of Africa. It gave me the feeling that I've almost been there. So we took a great drive from Ronda to Algeciras through mountains, it took us some time to go a little more than 100km. We didn't look for easy ways, no paid road, of course, some dead ends…

I flew into Sevilla, rented a car, and headed south to the coast. I visited several interesting and beautiful cities along the way. There were hill towns, coastal port towns and beautiful beaches.

The ferry from Tanger across to Algeciras was as crowded as the bus and the train had been as we traveled on land in Marocco.  We couldn't get any sleep due to the constant movement of the passengers past us.      Our trip sitting outside the smelly train toilet seemed to h…

Here you can watch the course of my hitchhiking trip to Spain. Starting the 1st October I plan to arrive in Barcelona around New Years Eve. From there I want to work and travel around the country in order to learn the Spanish language and get to know the people and their culture. I would be happy to see you as my reader or to find a mail of yours in my inbox. Everybody is welcome!

Up a bit later than intended, but there are plenty of sailings out of Ceuta, nearly every hour. They do seem to be a cartel though and there is no difference in the prices. We bought tickets for a Euroferrys sailing at 10-30, and it cost €33 each, which I though was a bit on the steep side f…

My company sent me for a knowledge transfer for 1 week to Hamburg + 3 weeks to Spain,an opportunity I couldn’t miss.Despite the big amount of work, lack of sleep, hectoliters of coffee I got to see some of the places I’ve been to as little child. The craziest was a weekend I spent in the south of Spain when a friend of mine visited me in Cadiz and convinced me to make the following tour within 2 days with her: Cadiz-Algeciras-Gibraltar-Algeciras-Tanger-Algeciras-Sevilla-Madrid.

Travel guides describe Algeciras as a boring, dangerous port city.  Don't believe it.  The city has a lot to offer.   I guess I love this city because it was my first experience in the Old World back in 96.  Also, during the years that I was in Morocco on a tourist visa, this …
