nice area to litsen to the music Nov 17, 2012
Alfama is the part of center of Lisbon. This old area nice neighborhood with its medieval alleys survived the 1755 earthquake and is now a step back in time.

now it is small village like small a city with narrow streets, tiny squares, churches and whitewashed houses with balconies adorned with flower pots and laundry. Alfama has influenced poets and novelists and has been an inspiration for Fado songs. you hear song every where.

you can visit this attraction by walk or by tram

finally in the end of this district the modern Fado Museum can be found, where you can step back into Fado history and listen to all the legendary songs and singers.

take care from pick pocket.

this attraction not far from castle.

Do you enjoy drinking Port? Mar 05, 2011
Walking around this neighborhood you will find local restaurants and bars. Local people who can speak a little English and you can challenge your Portuguese with them ;)

Very cheap for eating and drinking. If you are lucky you may end up sitting in a nice small local restaurant eating local food and drinking Port wine and listening to Fado, Portuguese folklore music.

A great hostel, a lot of walking, Miradouros of Lisbon
Getting into Lisbon was no problem, the bus #91 took me straight from the Terminal to Rossio Square, right outside my hostel... I stayed at Rossio Plaza, which is truly one of the best hostels ever :…Alfama, Baixa, Chaido neighborhoods in style :) Lisbon is situated on a series of hills, and there are plenty of points…
