I never would have thought a cruise along the western coast of Norway would have been worthwile, but after my grandmother took my sister and I, I realized it was spectacular. The landscape had a harsh, rugged beauty and the near 24-hour sunlight within the arctic circle was really an experience. Bergen was the largest city in Norway (but has only 250,000 inhabitants). The hiking was just phenomenal - especially when we climbed on a glacier.

June 2004 one of my childhood friends married a norwegian girl in Ångdalsnæs. One of the beautiful places is the Troll wall and Troll Path (Troll veggen og Troll stien). The day after the wedding on the way back to Ålesund, we stopped and hiked. A beautiful place!
