Not up to par with their namesake in Visalia Jun 13, 2012
We have an Alejandra’s in Visalia and we have visited it several times over the years. And we have always been pleased with the food, service and prices, so when they opened a new location in Tulare in what had been a long time Mexican restaurant, we decided to give them a try. We were in Tulare for some fun work all day and had a music concert to attend after dinner, so it made good sense to go in. The place has been cleaned up and all of the furniture, tables, chairs and booths look new. The décor is pleasant and several waiters were there to make sure you had good service. The staff was quick to take our drink orders, and brought our meals on very hot plates, which they also warned us about.

Unfortunately, the food was not nearly up to the same level as what we had always gotten in Visalia. The beans were very bland, and the sauce used on the enchiladas was greasy. The chips were okay but the salsa was extremely bland and tasteless. The price was about average for that type of food in our region, but I’m afraid we will not be returning.

The Visalia location is good. No idea why this one isn't!

They may be just suffering from growing pains, because everything was fine but the food. I was just plain bad! :D
