Leaving the New River, now start following the Greenbrier River through mountain scenery and small towns like Talcott (stop to see the railroad tunnel that John Henry helped build), and Pence Springs.  Driving along the northern side of the river, arrive in Alderson.  A nice small town which also has a women's penitentiary.  Martha Stewart stayed here. I was looking for the old train station so I could get a picture of it.  But the tracks follow along ...
