Flew into Albuquerque early
in the morning and with the hour pick-up for moving from Central to Mountain
Time, we had a full day to head for Santa
Fe. New Mexico has always
resonated with me and this excursion ended a fifteen year absence. There are a myriad of mystical landscapes
here, but what I like best are the extended stretches that have no telephone
poles – the simple deficiency begging that modern people have yet to muddy
nature with ‘progress’.

Work ping-ponged us from the dust of Galisteo, to the streets of Albuquerque, back to the stage in Santa Fe, only to put us, once again, in the New Mexican desert. This time it was the Indian Reservation of To'hajilee, 40 miles to the west of Albuquerque. Our old friends dust and wind were back in full swing. This time with the added excitement of rattle snakes. But we brought out the goggles and hats and hired a snake wrangler, and everyone survived. Our home for this location was the Route ...

It's been great to be back in Albuquerque the past few months, because more than anything else, I miss the food! I even made a trip out to New Mexico in 2004 for the sole purpose of eating.
Here is what could be waiting for you:(Note: This may be a bad idea if you have Acid Reflux disease or are on some sort of a low fat diet)
Grandy's Restaurant - 1400 Juan Tabo Blvd
Here is where you can find the best chicken nuggets you will ever have. You can get them with your choice of two sides. I...

Jag and I enjoyed a good night's sleep and an early wake-up call. After breakfast, which we brought from home, we returned to the beautiful La Posada Hotel to take photos of this incredible structure. Built in 1930 to serve the rail-traveling public, the hotel was closed down when rail was no longer the most common form of cross-country travel. Scheduled for demolition, La Posada was purchased by a very talented artist and her husband who have done an incredible job of resto...

Well after many emails, changes and special requests, we have finally decided on a tour guide. Now it is time to hit the books, and learn a bit about the sites. Over the course of my life, I have logged doezens of hours wathcing PBS and discovery specials about Egypt, but they are all jumbled up in my head. I am so excited I am obsessively surfing the internet, reading travellers blogs, and looking at pictures while dreaming of adventure. I would love to hear from anyone who has been th...

Automobile racing, especially open wheeled racing is one of my enjoyments. We had stopped a few days ago at a NASCAR museum after my second son begged me to, but today I got to go to one where I felt more comfortable.
The Unser Racing Museum is located here. It covers everything from the early days of dirt and Pike Peak racing up to and including the much more recent Indianapolis 500 wins and all of the family who have not only raced but won. This racing family has a massive number of ...

My niece had this big yen to go to Albuequerque. She liked the
