Albergo II Marzocco
Albergo II Marzocco Reviews
Older hotel in historic Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy Oct 10, 2009
The Hotel Albergo II Marzocco inside the old city wall shopping area of historic Montepulciano is run by Catholic nuns and was very convienent to the local shops/bars/restaurants. The rooms were fine in size, except they had the smallest showers I've ever seen and the beds were like laying on carboard. The view from our corner room was fantastic and the breakfast buffet was adequate--except they had 5 different kinds of juice but none of them were orange (peach, pineapple, pear, grapfruit and cranberry). I did not like giving up my passport to check in, but apparently this was a standard way to improve efficiency in the region for large group arrivals. Great location to stumble back to after hitting the local bar scene, although it does not have an elevator so be careful on the narrow marble staircases. the morning view of the fog below the hill-top city was amazing and the cathedral is just a block away from the hotel, which is adjacent to the gendamarie police station--very safe.
