Albany is the capital of the State of New York and the county seat of Albany County. Albany lies 136 miles (219 km) north of New York City, and slightly to the south of the juncture of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. The city's estimated 2006 population was 95,995
Albany's geographic situation as a "Crossroads City" (roughly equidistant between New York, Montreal, Buffalo and Boston) also makes it a convenient stop for nationally touring artists and acts. The Palace Theatre and The Egg provide mid-sized forums for music, theater and spoken word performances. The Times Union Center, previously the Knickerbocker Arena ("The Knick"), the Pepsi Arena, and now the Times Union Arena serves as the city's largest musical venue for nationally and internationally prominent bands, as well as trade shows, sporting events and other large-scale community gatherings. The New York State Museum is a major cultural draw in Albany, focusing on fine arts, natural history, and New York's economic, political and social histories.

I took a month off from work in Boston and decided to drive to Los Angeles on a whim.
Not one hotel room, and only four proper showers all month!

Well the crooked toe needed to go to Albany for business. I will be here for the next few days working for GE. There will be little time for play as the site assessment will take the entire day including the evenings. Lots of walking. We did go to a good Italian food resturant, but that is all that we got to do.

I kept calling the Delta number to check on my baggage, and there never was really an update that helped me know where my bag was. Laura got me to the airport around 4 and I got to my gate and actually got a seat on the flight I was booked onto, plus they were able to tell me that my baggage was booked on a Continental flight to Albany from Newark that would beat me there.
My flight boarded on time and ...
