Parts of Washington Park were originally the State Street Cemetary.  By the 1850's public opinion was shifting to support the expanding the much smaller parade ground into the urban planned park we have today, so the cemetary and other lots were purchased and existing graves moved to Albany Rural Cemetary in Menands.  (Should you ever visit Albany, Rural Cemetary is definitely worth a visit if you're into that type of thing-- it is full o...

I took a month off from work in Boston and decided to drive to Los Angeles on a whim. Not one hotel room, and only four proper showers all month!

Travelling to Albany
posted by:

Well the crooked toe needed to go to Albany for business.  I will be here for the next few days working for GE.  There will be little time for play as the site assessment will take the entire day including the evenings. Lots of walking.  We did go to a good Italian food resturant, but that is all that we got to do.

My flight boarded on time and ...

Visiting all 50 US State Capitol Buildings!: Albany Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 08, 1993 - Aug 22, 2006
It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.
