Saturday I took a bus from Banos to Riobamba.  The ¨casually¨ dressed bus attendants that gather the fair are relentless in their efforts to entice more passengers to voin the voyage.  They hang out of the door shouting the buses destination at every person that is passed along the way.  Riobamba!  Riobamba!  Riobamba!  is a particularily enticing jingle.  I left Banos a day later than planed so that I could t...

Eergisteren zijn we naar Guamote gereisd, een heel klein boerendorpje hoog in de bergen (3000m). De lodge waar we in slapen is erg knus en is een ontwikkelingsproject van de lokale bevolking. Heel gezellig. De eerste nacht waren we met z´n tweeen, gisternacht zat het helemaal vol, want er was ook een reisgezelschap van Djoser uit Nederland. Gisteren hadden we flink last van de hoogte en de buik (Cor) en daarom zijn we vandaag lekker afgedaald naar Alausi (2300m) in hotel Europe. Wel hebben ...
