What can I say... Alaska is beautiful. I enjoy it everytime I head over there. The most recent trip was during the winter when daylight is minimal as opposed to the summer when it is the opposite. Good pub downtown is Humpy's ~ Regular pub grub and live bands on weekends.

It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!)
Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd....

If you've never been there pictures just don't tell the story. I go there to fish each year and each time I go I'm amazed at what I see although it's not always a trip for the faint of heart

Amazing salmon fishing trip, with whales and eagles along the way. Quaint town with nice shops, friendly people, pretty Russian church. Salmon spawning in a stream near the boat filled marina.

Homer Alaska is a tranquil setting for those in need of true natural relaxation. It does provide the basic ammenities. It is a little expensive due to the fact that you are in Alaska.

It's prettier here than in Minnesota. This is where my family had moved to. Homesteading was proving to be a troublesome task. My younger brothers and sisters were not all that enthused to study. I immediately got a part-time job at the roller rink. Also another part time job with a bookkeeper that lived within walking distance. Later I added the 3rd job which was selling Avon in our trailer court. I started UAF in the fall of 1979. Can you believe the size of the school was overwhelming for ...
